Malá ukázka: Jestliže jsme všichni hříšníci a nikdo nad pokušení povznesen, pak není důležitější ctnosti než pokání. Neboť dílo pokání nikdy neskončí. Je vhodné v každé době pro každého hříšníka i spravedlivého, který chce dosáhnout spásy. Dokonalost nemá meze, takže i dokonalost dokonalého je ještě nedokonalá. Proto až do smrti není pokání vázáno ani na časová období ani na skutky.
